Significance:

            Somapur is a nearby village to naragund. An ancient temple in the somapur is a devotional place attracting the devotees from surroundings. Thetemple is located on the bijapur-hubballi highway of somapur. Its an 12th century temple but renovated many times. The temple stands on support of stone pillars and plane walls. Nicely carved hanuma statue is in the garbha graham with attractive art around it. The old hanuman temple can also seen in the same premise. Previously temple had a lake which is dry now. The inscription about the temple establishment and the statues of sapta martukas which will be available in old chalukyan temples are also available in the temple premise which confirms it as an ancient temple.
