Bangalore, a city one often falls in love with for the beautiful climate it beholds a lake that is equally beautiful. On the outskirts of this city, in the quiet, lies Chikkabanavara Lake spreading its sheets of water across 170 acres. The lake is located at a distance of 1.5 km north of Chikkabanavara railway station on the Bangalore-Tumkur railway line. It is 22 km away from Bangalore City.
Chikkabanavara, once upon a time village has been transforming, going through the urban development. Its immense greenery is now a part of its history but Chikkabanavara still has its beauty to flaunt. This place can be accessed by Hessarghatta Road from 8th Mile in Yeshwanthpur on Bangalore-Tumkur Highway. True indeed, there are many places in Bangalore that one would want to visit, but one is usually fatigued by their curiosity.
The beautiful lake offers a peaceful time one seldom craves for. Its refreshing view puts one’s mind at ease. If you aren’t in love with nature already, you will be a nature lover once you lay your eyes upon the views Chikkabanavara Lake has in its store. How many different birds have you seen already? Heard their chirpings? Birds are a beauty to the eyes and to the ears. And the lake is a home to many of them. With its welcoming elegance calling out, I can only grab my camera and set out to this place.
I however wonder if this tiny camera can really capture the vast Chikkabanavara Lake, with all this beauty that my eyes have witnessed.
