Significance :

The someshwara temple is an ancient temple in kamatagi, according to local people the temple belongs to 12-13th century, it may be a part of temples found in gudur and around. It’s a shiva temple near hilltop slightly outside the kamatagi. In the temple visitor can find two garbha graham and both are having shiva linga. First one is now worshipped as sangameshwar and second one is a older temple of same but still a shivalinga is worshipped. Nandi or basavanna mantapa can be found in front of both the sanctum. Some sculpture can find only in the nandi mantapa other than that the entire temple is plane. A small ruined fort can be seen on the hilltop from the temple. On the way to bagalkot to hunagund devotees can visit sangameshwara temple.
