Rameshwar temple is identity of the jamkhandi town, it’s also called as jambulingeshwara temple which is in the name of town jamkhandi. its near the patawardhan palace and still under the patawardhan legacy. There are many legends regarding the ramalingeshwara temple related to the royal patawardhan family and people around. The place has mythological importance too. In Ramayana lord rama visited here in the journey of searching seeta and the bird jatayu dies here after informing about larceny of seeta by ravana. At present a small but attractive lake is there in front of the temple and pooja is performed here for two times in a day. Temple still retains the ancient structure even though it’s a many century old temple. There is a ganesha temple also in the premise.
