Significance:

Mallapur in the bank of ghatabrabha river near bagalkot is a familiar and old picnic spot around the bagalkot. It is famous as mallayya gudda. Mallikarjun temple is which made it a one of the visiting places in bagalkot. Approximately 800 years old mallikarjun temple is a shiva temple looks beautiful with its rock stone construction. It is in a small hilltop which make easer to visitor to enjoy the areal view of ghataprabha river, many small hils around and greenery in the mallapur. Previously the ramarudh math was here, now it is shifted to Simikeri RC, It is very near to bagalkot city and preferable for small family picnic. In rainy season road to mallapur will be closed due to river but it can be reached by the way kirasur. There are some toys for kids and space for rest opposite to the temple.
