Significance :

hole basaveshwar as name says it’s a basaveshwar temple. Hole means river, It is located near ghataprabha river so its called hole basaveshwar. A cow statue will be worshiped here. It’s a one of the ancient temples in bagalkot district which are carrying the many holy customs from centuries. As the basaveshwara is a family deity for many farmer families in the region, the temple was built at the time of “kalyana chalukyas” around 11th century. It’s a small temple with stone pillars, But a cardinal temple due to its importance in life of formers around, it is called machakanuru basaveshwar in local. A famous fair(jatre) will be organised in the month of February where thousands of devotees will gather.
